Description
Large liturgical missal for use on an altar,Large print latin words and music printed on hand made parchment paper .It appears ;that the prayers and music were established under pope Clements V111 and recognized from 1724 as official document to be used for all events and ceremonies for at least a full year. Pages have been marked with home made tabs indicating the most often used pages in the missal. History of this missal is unknown. Discovered in France and acquired in 1989. I have used it as a table decoration for nearly 40 years
Condition is fair
words and notes etc. are very clear
one or two pages are frayed at the bottom
Leather and strap are in sad condition from what appears to be heavy use in some church
size: 19.25" x 13" x 5" thick plus wood reinforcement
For a collector, the etching on the face page will have significance
