Antique Tribal mask used in celebration ceremonies .Believed to be Nigerian Igbo MAIDEN SPIRIT Masque with pigments possibly 1922.
carved and painted wood with remnants of fabric costume attached
'Acquired from a gallery in Kenya 1979. and it has been in my personal collection since that time. White pigment face is a clue to its origin.
size: 23" high above stand x 14" deep x 8" wide
condition: there are some small wood bruises as wood is dry. but for its age very good.
