Description
A Meiji period tansu clothing chest made of Keyaki wood and having elaborately worked iron drawer hardware and hauling handles on the sides of both the upper and lower portions of the cabinet. There are hidden drawers behind the door usually considered a safe, the hardware is hand cut iron in floral motif. Believed to be late 19th century until approximately 1923.
condition: drawers are in tact hinges need a bit of tightening but handles on sides still very strong and make moving the piece quite easy …It has been treated with love for 50 years
