Mid century Thermos rare aluminum over glass liner black cup/saucer

Description

Slightly wider at the base Aluminum body decorated with scribe lines lined with mercury glass , cork cup and saucer dish made from What appears to be Black Glass. Designer unknown but appears to be designed during the period of the famous architectural -like modernist personalities . The condition appears to be new. Produced by American Thermos and has a ID# on the bottom.
It is so lovely it has always been used as a table top decoration. It holds 2 ( 16oz) cups of liquid. Was a gift to my Mother in the 1950's.
