Description:
Signed front and back-
In the 1920’s between the wars a number of post impressionist painters worked in a styleSimilar to Cezanne’s as Found in his early landscapes . They drew their inspiration from the beauty of nature especially in France where the images highlighted the harmony found there and where the shapes are simplified , bathed in light and the atmosphere Suggests that they were painted plein d’air . However since this artist is unknown we cannot know the history of his or her work. Picture is signed Chaldiere. It was purchased at le Puce de Owen in Paris in 1985 for no other reason than it spoke of the light and warmth in a beautiful valley in France . It is framed probably by the artist in a natural wood frame about 3” wide. Appears to be oil on board . It is signed on the lower left side
Chaudiere.
