Charming Louis XVI style slipper chair, Probably from 1960's. Exposed wood frame on Oval back and seat The seat cushion sits loose on an upholstered deck which sits on 6.5" high Louis style legs. Chair belonged to a very chic white haired British Lady who in fact while seated in the chair would read to whomever gathered around from Punch. Upholstered in Black and white stripe sateen fabric. Makes a dramatic accent chair especially in an all white modern interiors as it is elegant and timeless.
Overall ht. 34" x 19" wide and approx 19" deep. Although the present seat ht. is 15", often when slipper chairs are recovered cushion thickness can be increased 2" or so in ht and not alter the character of the chair.
Chair is in very good condition considering its age and use.
